So I purchased the Alpha of The Long Dark, a Canadian Survival game. No other players, No zombies, No Monsters, just the elements and wild animals.
This is one of the most frustratingly difficult games I think I have ever played.
Everything cost calories, warmth and thirst. misjudge a distance? freeze to death. fire wont start? freeze to death or starve because you cant cook. Cool derailled train: Pack of Wolves? Eaten alive.
However, it is a fun game, and it does really bring about the stresses of survival.
Good Job, its $20 on steam and worth it in my opinion. Right now its just the survial sandbox but they are putting together a story mission.

I'll load it on my 2009 Mac Mini tomorrow. If it can handle it your mac can.

Being from British Columbia (where the developer is) myself, this interests me. However, I have way too many games on the go at the moment, and quite a few more coming soon. I can't imagine picking up yet another game. That's a nice problem to have.
